Interculturalism

Multicultural Indigenous Academy is a school that focuses on strengthening the individual through both independent and community interaction. Invested in the idea that a strong sense of cultural identity allows individuals to achieve greater life successes, the school advocates intercultural ethics. By incorporating four primary components to interculturalism, the Multicultural Indigenous Academy helps promote academic stability, goal achievement, and life accomplishment. Collectively, the definition as developed by the staff and students of the Multicultural Indigenous Academy provides four fundamental steps in intercultural participation:

  1. Know yourself; know your identity.
  2. Know others; Get to know others by learning from those who know themselves.
  3. Inter-relate; Learn about the differences and similarities of everyone by interacting in the community, school, and diverse peer groups.
  4. Live and Work Together; Accomplish each stage of personal development and you will acquire the skills to live and work more productively and respectfully in the world. Resulting in greater success for you and your global peers.
“Every Student is highly regarded and is seen as very important to our future communities”
